Granola's ads strategy: one line of copy, a bench of creators

Granola runs 2,229 active Meta ads. In our sample of 209, 207 share one body line and 60% run under creators' names. Google ~400, LinkedIn up to 554.

Published . Ads collected from the public Meta, Google and LinkedIn ad libraries.

Granola, the AI notepad for meetings, had 2,229 active ads in the Meta Ad Library when we looked, and in our sample of 209 of them, 207 carry the exact same body copy. The words never change. What changes is the face on screen: 125 of the 209 ads (60%) run under a creator's name rather than Granola's own page. Every ad in the sample started on or after 17 September 2026, so this is an account that ships new creative in batches and retires the old.

Key findings

  • 207 of 209 sampled Meta ads use one body line: "An AI notepad for back-to-back days. Walk in prepared, stay in the conversation, and leave with everything that mattered."
  • 125 of 209 ads (60%) run as partnership ads under 17 creator and partner pages, from Girl Meets Code (21 ads) to Mpaige13 and audreycaprianni (13 each).
  • Creators hold 12 of the 23 positions in Meta's own sort-by-impressions view; the top three are brand-made animated statics.
  • 195 of 209 ads (93%) use the Learn more button and 200 send people to the granola.ai homepage, whose CTA is Download for free.
  • Launches come in waves: 71 ads started on 6 October and 95 on 20 October, out of 209 in the sample.
  • Meta's library counts 1,311 video ads (59% of the 2,229); creator pages supplied 60 of the 69 videos in our sample.
  • Google and LinkedIn run the same story with different copy: search ads chase "AI Note Taker for Meetings", LinkedIn leans on a Brex customer quote.

The copy is locked; the creative carries the message

Most Meta advertisers test headlines and primary text. Granola does not, at least not now. Beyond the shared body line, 188 of 209 ads use the headline "The AI notepad for meetings"; the other 21 show the creator's name in that slot (karen.akc, Josh unfiltered, the brand page itself). Only two ads in the sample carry different text, an older-sounding line: "Imagine being fully present in your next meeting... no more scribbling notes or worrying about missing a key point."

That leaves the image or video to do all the selling. The brand-made statics and animations we looked at each push one idea in a serif headline: "Follow the thread." (a recorder on a desk, labelled "Coffee with a candidate" and "Notes waiting when you stand up"), "Granola works wherever you do." (Slack, Google Meet, Teams and Windows icons), a three-step "After 1 meeting / After 5 meetings / After 10 meetings" card about notes that compound into memory, and "Feed your AI Agents. Six months, in one go." with a Try Granola's MCP button over Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini logos. That last one sells the MCP connector Granola launched alongside its Series C, to a consumer feed.

Brand-made statics, all with the same body text. "Follow the thread." holds rank 3 in Meta's impressions sort and runs as 14 copies.

Six in ten ads run under a creator's name

Granola's own page ("Granola - AI notepad") runs 84 of the 209 sampled ads. The other 125 appear under 17 other names: lifestyle and career creators, a designer, a podcast and a tech-review page. These are partnership ads: Granola pays, the creator's handle shows. Counting the "N ads use this creative" multiplier, creator pages account for 354 of the 607 ad copies behind our 209 cards.

The formats split cleanly by who made them. Brand-page ads are mostly dynamic (64 of 84), with Meta rotating two or three versions of the same message. Creator-page ads are mostly video (60 of 125). On screen, the creator videos look like organic posts: Josh unfiltered filming his desk monitor with the caption "so all my meeting contacts is just there", Girl Meets Code with "Meeting wrapped, @meetgranola ready in seconds" over a laptop, Kellycareermode with "Trying @meetgranola to transcribe my meetings... so easy to set up". Jackie's Prof Page goes furthest from work: "Mom life DOES. NOT. STOP." over a kitchen shot, using Granola to text her husband notes from a school orientation.

Creator partnership ads. Mpaige13's video runs as 25 copies, tied for the most-scaled creative in the sample; Girl Meets Code's holds rank 4 by impressions.

Who is on screen. "Copies" sums Meta's "N ads use this creative and text" count per card.

The brand's own videos borrow the creator look. One shows a woman at a whiteboard comparing "Granola AI notepad" with "Notetakers" ("Scattered across a dozen recordings", "Rewatch a 30 minute meeting just to find one thing") and runs as 25 copies. Another, under The Lavender Fix Podcast's name, pairs a "Granola super user" with Granola's co-founder and CEO under the title "Why Granola?". A third is a two-person video call captioned "Your meetings, wired into everything else."

Brand-made video in a creator style: whiteboard comparison, founder interview, video-call demo.

New creative lands in batches, and creators sit at the top of the impressions sort

No ad in our sample is older than five weeks. Start dates cluster on a handful of days, and each wave mixes brand and creator work: on 6 October, 52 of 71 new ads were creator ads; on 20 October, 44 of 95. In Meta's sort-by-impressions view, 23 ads showed a rank; 12 of them run under creator pages. The top three are brand-made versions of "Follow the thread.", two of them from the first wave on 17 September and still on top a month later.

Launch waves in our sample of 209 active Meta ads.

All 209 ads run on Facebook, Instagram and Threads together. By country, the library reported 323 active ads reaching the US, 160 the UK, 145 Canada, 128 Australia, 78 France and 77 Germany. Those counts come from Meta's per-country filter and sit far below the 2,229 total, so read them as relative weight: English-speaking markets first.

Every click goes to the homepage, and the homepage asks for a download

200 of the 209 ads link to granola.ai's root. Seven, all from the 11 October wave, go to granola.ai/work, which on our visit carried the same hero as the homepage. Two ads from 20 October point to granolai.ai, an extra "i" in the domain, which looks like a typo in the setup. The homepage headline is "The AI notepad for back-to-back meetings" with "Without a meeting bot." underneath and a Download for free button: no form, no email gate, an app install. The ad copy says "back-to-back days"; the page says "back-to-back meetings". The page also lists customer logos (PostHog, Figma, Brex, Ramp, Linear and others) and the MCP connector that one ad sells. Pricing starts free, with Business at $14 and Enterprise at $35 per user per month; the free plan keeps 30 days of meeting history, which is the upgrade trigger.

Google buys the category term; LinkedIn sells to the buyer

The Google Ads Transparency Center shows about 400 ads for granola.ai under one verified advertiser, Granola Labs Ltd. Of the 12 creatives we captured, half are search text ads and half are video. The text ads target the generic category, not the brand: "AI Note Taker for Meetings" ("Get instant AI notes, minutes, and transcripts for Teams, Google Meet & more"), "Your AI Meeting Note Taker", and a "Pricing plans | Granola" ad pointing at granola.ai/notepad. The video creatives reuse creator footage inside a Granola-branded frame, including the same man and Granola-next-to-the-clock icon that runs on Meta under Mpaige13's page.

LinkedIn's Ad Library returns up to 554 ads for the advertiser name "Granola". All 12 cards we captured belong to Granola's company page; we saw no promoted personal posts. The copy changes from Meta's: "An AI notepad for back-to-back meetings" with a Try for free button, visuals such as "Your notes. Whoever set up the call." and "Be fully in the room." over a calendar of standups and investor calls. Two cards switch to proof for IT buyers: "The AI notepad that turns meetings into company memory" above a quote from Brex's Head of IT about "minimal administrative burden for IT", with Why Brex chose Granola.

What to take from it

  1. Lock the copy and test the creative. Granola runs 207 of 209 ads on one body line, so any difference in results comes from the visual and the person in it.
  2. Put creators in partnership ads, not only in organic posts. 60% of Granola's sampled ads run under creator names, and they take 12 of the top 23 impressions slots.
  3. Ship in waves. Two launch days (6 and 20 October) account for 166 of 209 sampled ads, which makes each batch easy to read against the last.
  4. Cut creator footage for every channel. The same creator clip shows up on Meta under the creator's name and on Google as a branded video.
  5. Change the argument by platform. Meta sells the daily habit, Google buys "AI note taker" searches, LinkedIn shows a Brex IT lead talking about admin burden.

How we collected this

We read the Meta Ad Library, the Google Ads Transparency Center and the LinkedIn Ad Library logged out on 21 October 2026. Meta reported 2,229 active ads for Granola's page; we collected 209 from several first-page views (top by impressions, newest, image, video, per country), so percentages describe that sample. Impressions rank is Meta's own ordering of active ads, not a spend figure. Meta shows no spend data for ads outside the EU, and we report none. The LinkedIn total comes from a name search and may include other advertisers; the 12 cards we checked were all Granola's.
